The Best Podcasts to Level Up Your Spanish From Teacher-Led to Native Vibes!

¡Hola!

If there is one thing I always tell my students, it’s that your ears need to "bathe" in the language every single day ("empaparse en la lengua"). But I know, I know... sometimes you don't have time to sit down with a textbook, and that also takes too much mental weight.

That’s where podcasts come in! You just listen to them while commuting, cooking, or just relaxing, while training your brain. Today, I’ve organized my favorites into two categories: those designed to teach you, and the "real-life" ones I listen to myself.

Vamos a ver (o a escuchar)!

Category 1: Podcasts that Actively Teach You

These are amazing because they focus on helping you understand the "how" and "why" of the language, often through culture or grammar.

Basic Spanish Conversations:

✅LATAM Accent

Perfect if you want to get used to the rhythm of Latin American Spanish. They use everyday scenarios that are super practical for travel or making friends.

Dreaming Spanish:

✅All Accents

As you know, I’m a huge fan of "comprehensible input." I've recommended this Youtube page over and over. Dreaming Spanish is gold because you can hear every accent imaginable, helping your brain become more flexible.

¡Cuéntame!:

✅Mexican Accent

A brilliant resource for beginners. The narrator speaks slowly and repeats key ideas so you never feel lost.

Hablando Claro:

✅Spanish from Spain Accent

If you want to master the "zezeo" and the slang from Spain, this is for you. It’s clear, direct, and very engaging.

Spanish Stories Lab:

✅Peruvian Accent

I love the Peruvian accent for its clarity. These stories are like little brain treats that help you pick up vocabulary through narrative.

Coffee Break Spanish:

✅Mixed accents (even non-native Spanish speakers)

A classic! It feels like you’re sitting in a café having a lesson. It’s very structured and great for building a solid foundation.
Español para Falsos Principiantes: For those who "know some Spanish" but feel stuck. It bridges the gap between basic and intermediate perfectly.

Español para Falsos Principiantes:

✅Spanish from Spain Accent

This one was recommended to me by my student, Sergio! It’s perfect for those who "know some Spanish" but feel a bit stuck or rusty. It bridges the gap between basic and intermediate perfectly, helping you regain your confidence.

Category 2: Authentic Podcasts that I personally listen to

These aren't "lessons." They are real shows made for native speakers. They don't slow down, and they don't explain the grammar, they just talk about life and topics. This is "the deep end" of the pool, and I love it!

Las Damitas Histeria:

✅Mexican Accent

My best friend Nati from Colombia recommended this one. At the begining I didn't quite catch their humour, up until I heard one episode that made me laugh so much.

This is so fun and high-energy. It’s great for hearing how friends actually joke and tell stories in Mexico. They laugh and give out great pieces of advice, to be honest! They're so refreshing.

I really like watching them on their youtube as well.

Entiende tu Mente:

✅Spanish from Spain Accent

I’m adore psychology (remember the neuroplasticity post?). This one explains how our minds work in short, easy-to-digest, 20-minute episodes.

Se Regalan Dudas:

✅Mexican Accent

ular podcasts in Latam. They talk about love, personal growth, and life choices. It’s deep, emotional, and very beautiful.

Almendra Podcast:

✅ Argentinian Accent

Of course, I had to include an Argentinian one! This is great if you want to get used to our "voseo" and that melodic rhythm we have when we speak.

Un último consejito...
Don't feel frustrated if you don't understand 100% of the authentic podcasts yet. That’s normal! Your brain is still "getting in shape." Start with Category 1 and slowly sprinkle in Category 2 to see how much you can catch.

Also, don't get crazy if you don't get to understand everything at the beggining. Give your brain 10-15 minutes to acclimate (and then, if it's still very hard to understand, move on to another podcast)

¿Cuál es tu favorito?

Send me more suggestions for podcasts via Whatsapp. I’m always looking for new things to listen to!

Nos vemos pronto,

Con Cariño,
